Hungarian Gov’t Rejects Sunday Closing Rumour
The government yesterday denied that it is considering a new ban on Sunday shopping after the Innovation and Technology Ministry state secretary Péter Cseresnyés scheduled a meeting with the head of government-friendly retail workers union KDFSZ.

The union suggested that the government is reconsidering a full or maybe partial Sunday closing.

The government firmly denied this, saying in a statement that the ban on working on Sundays is a closed issue and the government does not intend to re-open this question.

KDFSZ leader Csaba Bubenkó said the cabint had asked the ministry to put the issue of Sunday closing on the agenda.
