The biggest equestrian festival in Hungary is arranged every year in Budapest at the majestic Heroes Square. The first National Gallop was held in 2008, and since then became a very popular event filled with Hungarian culture, featuring action filled horse races.

A month ago Zoltán Balog, minister of human resources and an ordained Hungarian Reformed minister, ruffled the feathers of those who take the separation of church and state seriously. The occasion was a speech he delivered in Szombathely at a thanksgiving service upon the completion of a steeple for the local Hungarian Reformed church and the installation of three new bells.

One of history’s worst earthquakes and tsunamis devastated the Indian Ocean region on 26 December 2004, killing over 230,000 people in fourteen countries, and inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 meters high. It was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history. Indonesia was the hardest-hit country, followed by Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand.
