Budapest city council approved a long list of proposed venues for the 2024 Olympic games to be included in the official bid presentation. The chief venue would be a new 60,000-seat stadium for track and field events, to be built on Csepel Island, that could later be scaled down to 15,000 seats.

The Hungarian Academy of Wine presented the Winemaker of the Year award to Éva Dignisz Gál at a gala luncheon on Sunday. Dignisz Gál, the first woman to have won the title grows grapes with her husband, Csaba Gál, on 70 hectares on Csepel Island, south of Budapest, and ten hectares north of Lake Balaton.

"One man was killed and two others sustained injuries when a helicopter broke in two and fell into the Danube near the Lágymanyosi bridge Tuesday morning. The deceased was a senior executive of the company involved in building a sewage treatment plant on Csepel Island.
