Local Produce To Local Consumers In Hungary
"The Hungarian Parliament passed a law last week permitting local public institutions to purchase produce from local farms without an often protracted and severely bureaucratic ‘public procurement process’.

Hungarian Agricultural Minister Sandor Fazekas (left) and Government Spokesperson Anna Nagy announced the change in the small town of Many, near Budapest.

Small farmers will no longer bear the restrictions on public institution sales, increasing their income, while consumers are assured of high quality, fresh local products, Nagy claimed.

The Agricultural Minister said the move is part of a large-scale initiative to open the Hungarian market to Hungarian farmers."
