Traditional Hungarian New Wine & Goose Feast, This Weekend
"Saint Martin New Wine Festival and Goose-feast at the Skanzen (open-air museum) in Szentendre - for everyone who likes good wine and tasty food in a special environment. In Hungary more and more people are celebrating Saint Martin's Day with new wine and goose dishes. One of the most prosperous Saint Martin's Day events of the country is the New Wine Festival of Skanzen.

The visitors can taste quality new wines, spirits, autumn delicacies and goose dishes cooked on the spot. In the Plucking-room and the Corn-shelling room visitors can join the common works of autumn and the abandon following the end of field labors.

At the Martin-playspace potato guns, quills, pumpkin lamps and lampions can be prepared. In the houses of the Little Plain region the settlement of Halászi from the Szigetköz shows its Saint Martin Day festival traditions.

As a closure to the celebration the cheerful procession of the guild mates on decorated carts can be seen."
