Schmitt Case Is A Trust Issue For Hungarian PM Orban
"Prime Minister Viktor Orban continues to view the Schmitt plagiarism case as an issue of trust and has not yet let go of the President, Fidesz sources told Nepszabadsag after reports earlier this week said over 200 of Schmitt’s 215-page doctoral thesis were plagiarised.

Some Fidesz sources said if the ongoing inquiry by a commission finds that Schmitt's thesis was written in accordance with 1992 rules, then the President could “escape”.

One source said the situation is made more difficult because Schmitt has no intention of resigning, and cannot be forced out.

The investigative commission is to present its report on March 28.

Speaking to Bruxinfo on Wednesday Schmitt said he has vowed not to comment on the issue, adding that he rejects the accusation of plagiarism but will accept the outcome of the inquiry."
