Chinese Try To Slip Eels Through Budapest Airport
Customs and Excise guards seized a total of 183 kilograms, about Ft 120 million worth, of live eels from the luggage of two Chinese passengers at Budapest Liszt Ferenc airport, the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) said on Saturday.

The two Chinese had arrived from Moscow and told the customs office they wanted to import live fish to Hungary, for which they had no documentation.

The eels were listed as an endangered species and their import would have required special export and import licences.
