In his telegrams, Kövér voiced shock over the disaster and expressed sympathy with family members of the crash victims, parliament’s press office said in a statement on Tuesday.

Márta Mátrai, first officer of the Hungarian parliament, paid a condolence visit to the Dutch Embassy in Budapest, the statement added.

All 283 passengers and the whole crew of the Malaysian plane died in the crash which happened in the pro-Russian rebel-held area of eastern Ukraine on Thursday, allegedly in a missile attack.
