Jamie Oliver To Open Italian In Budapest, His First Restaurant In Central-Europe
Jamie’s Italain restaurant is due to open in the first quarter of 2016 in Budapest’s historic city center, the Buda Castle District. A partnership between Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, Jamie’s Italian has won millions of fans for its tasty and affordable food, along with friendly and welcoming service.

Zsidai Group will be the exclusive operating partner of Jamie in Hungary, and they told XpatLoop.com they are proud to be involved in opening the first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in the Central-European region.

The menu is based on dishes you’d find people eating all over Italy, made with care but delivered without fuss, using the best ingrediants. Much of the produce used will be from Hungary and the region.

The casual Italian restaurant will see pasta being made onsite daily and will also house an open kitchen and a terrace overlooking the Mathias church. Jamie’s Italian Budapest will utilise many of the regions finest ingredients and work has begun to identify the best producers.

High quality fresh ingredients with special attention to sustainability, ethical animal treatment and animal welfare – all under detailed and continous control. It is also an excellent opportunity to suppliers to join an international network.

Jamie said, “Opening a restaurant in Budapest is hugely exciting. Our first site is right in the heart of the Castle District, which has got to be one of the most beautiful places to be opening a restaurant. We're working with a fantastic local partner, and we're already on the hunt for brilliant suppliers and producers. I can't wait to get the doors open!”

"We are delighted to start the partnership and extremely happy that a company with such a high international reputation has choosen our 33-year-old family business for the partnership. It is a responsibility, we are working very hard to meet the high standards of Jamie Oliver and let Hungarian people experience the high quality Italian kitchen – that is also affordable, and in a relaxed setting,” said Roy Zsidai, CEO of the Zsidai Gastronomy Group.

Jamie’s Italian is now looking for Hungary’s most passionate chefs and hospitality professionals. Anyone looking for an opportunity to break into the world of great food in Budapest is invited to send a CV to karrier@zsidai.com.
