Hungarian Gov’t Widens CSOK Eligibility
The government is easing conditions for eligibility for home purchase grants for families with children, it was announced yesterday. One change is that all offspring up to age 25 will be counted as children, regardless of whether they are students.

Unborn children will be counted as living children from the 12th week of pregnancy, rather than the 24th.

Members of the armed services and the clergy will be also entitled to the funding.

A total of 14,240 applications were filed for CSOK funds, to a total value of Ft 38.3 billion in the first seven months of this year, Human Resources Ministry state secretary Katalin Novák told reporters.

She said the cabinet decree on the eased conditions will be published soon.
