Bird Flu Detected In SE Hungary
The National Food Safety Office (Nébih) detected a bird flu outbreak at a turkey farm in Békés County in southeast Hungary, the farm ministry said. All 9,000 turkeys at the farm are to be culled in an effort to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

The farm will receive compensation from the state. The outbreak has been identified as the H5N8 strain, which to date has never been detected in humans, the ministry said.
