Szijjártó Lambasts Schulz Over Hungary PM Remarks
Martin Schulz, the leader of Germany’s opposition Social Democratic Party, “had better occupy himself with his own party” in light of its recent election defeats, the Hungarian foreign minister said in response to Schulz suggesting that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was a right-wing populist.

Péter Szijjártó reacted to an interview published by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in which Schulz said: “As for rightwing populists, in Europe the [Heinz- Christian] Straches and Orbáns are in the same political family with Merkel; they are all members of the European People’s Party group”.

“Everything always reminds Schulz of the Hungarian prime minister, but he had better get to work on his own party after its three ignominious election defeats over the past few months,” Szijjártó said.
