Bomb Defused In Budapest At Déli Station

Bomb disposal experts defused a World War II device found at Déli train station early on Thursday.

The bomb was discovered during renovation works at the station.

Police sealed off surrounding streets while the bomb was defused before noon.

Police communications officer Zita Markovics said several warheads had been found but the restrictions were imposed because of a Soviet grenade.

The grenade had been spent but it had not exploded.

The evacuation ordered of all buildings within a 200-metre radius affected 148 people.
