Online Bank Card Fraud Damages In Hungary Jump In Q2
The number and value of frauds related to online purchases made with banking cards were both up in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the same period a year before, the National Bank of Hungary said.

The NBH said in Q2 there were 15,000 bank card frauds involving domestically issued cards causing 387 million forints of damages.

Both the number of incidents and the caused damages were up by 50% compared to Q2 2017.

Most banking card fraud involved internet purchases where the physical presence of the cards was not necessary. Such cases accounted for more than 83% of all cases and all damages.
