His father told the tabloid Blikk that Papp had eaten normally, and did not have any thoughts of committing suicide, so it is not clear why he was taken for mental observation.

Blikk was told by the National Corrections Institute that convicts are continuously monitored by specialists and if it is judged that they need mental observation, they are transported from the prison to the Judicial Monitoring and Psychiatric Institute.

Papp was sentenced to life imprisonment last week, and could be released in 30 years at the earliest.
