IKEA Bans Single-Use Plastic Products In Hungary
IKEA will stop selling single-use plastic products in its stores worldwide from January 1, the Swedish furniture and home design chain announced on Monday.

Shoppers will find no single-use straws, plastic plates or cutlery in IKEA stores in Hungary nor elsewhere.

Single-use plastic products place an excessive burden on the environment that is no longer tolerated by IKEA, said Vladimir Visek head of sustainability for IKEA’s Czech, Slovak and Hungarian markets.

The chain will replace plastic cutlery with products made from sugar cane.
