Bugging Scandal At Miskolc City Hall
Miskolc local council has turned to the data protection authority over microphones and cameras being found at the city’s town hall, Index has learnt.

At the end of August during a tour of the council building, cameras and microphones were found in the auditorium used for local council sessions, Miskolc city council’s website wrote.

An internal inquiry found that in August 2016, at the request of former Fidesz mayor Ákos Kriza and then chief of staff Zoltán Alakszai (now head of the Borsod county government office), a robot camera, two microphones and a control unit were installed in the room.

The equipment obtained for nearly Ft 4 million was of such quality that every conversation could be heard in the hall, Népszava added.
