Residential Rental Rates Edge Up
The summer brought a recovery in the home rental market in Hungary, according to a summary published by top real estate listings site Ingatlan.com.

According to the KSH-Ingatlan.com rent index, which tracks offer prices, rent prices grew by 2.7% from June to July nationally and by 2.4% in Budapest.

Average rent prices were up more than 8% compared to January, but still below the 2020 base figures.

The average rent for apartments in Budapest was Ft 145,000 a month in mid-August, down from Ft 150,000 a year earlier and below the Ft 165,000 for the same period of 2019.

In Debrecen, the average rent offered was Ft 120,000, up from Ft 110,000 a year earlier.

The offer prices of homes grew at the same pace in Szeged and Pécs.

Tenants had 19,000 properties to choose from in mid-August, 13,000 of them in Budapest.
