Compulsory Car Insurance Fees Drop in Hungary
Compulsory car insurance annual fees were down 1% to Ft 43,700 in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to a year earlier, the MNB announced on Monday.

Fees in Budapest have fallen by 7%, while fees remained stable outside of the capital.

Meanwhile, damages paid to clients increased by 13%.

The increase can be explained by the rise in car use during the pandemic, and by higher costs for car parts and repairs. It is not the number of reported cases that has increased but the average amount paid as damages.

Fees for individual buses, tricks and taxi cabs have dropped while fleet fees have increased, except heavy trailers.

Fees fell by 1.5% from the previous quarter.
