Budapest is developing a special concept for NATO membership, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on state radio.
The Hungarian Prime Minister has strongly criticised the idea of compulsory EU-wide military conscription - Orban dismissed the conscription proposal as "insane" and a "crazy idea".
Hungary will stay out of “NATO’s insane action” despite all pressure on the country, the foreign minister said, adding that “it will however be a long fight, in which the upcoming EP election, when people can express their opinion on war or peace, will be an important point”.
The government has sent out an email concerning its standpoint on NATO plans in Ukraine to members of the public who had already provided their contact details.
