Much to the delight of “kürtőskalács” admirers, this season’s traditional gastronomical event will be full of surprises, with a record-breaking number of stands (30!) representing the Hungarians’ chimney-shaped delicacy in various forms and flavours.

This year the 3-day long cake fest has relocated to the spacious green area behind Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest's City Park.

Master Sekler cake bakers accepted the invitation to visit from Transylvania, and others will attend from the area of Lake Balaton are to share special tastes...

Édes Mackó confectionery promises to bring exciting new flavours, shapes and sizes, gluten and dairy free, and even diet-friendly Sekler cake variations.

The traditional, charcoal-oven-baked salty bites and festival style foods won’t be missing either, we;re told.

Also concerts, various kids programs including puppet shows games are also scheduled to take place this year.

For example children’s entertainment will be provided by Kolompos Zenekar, and grown-ups can sing and dance at concerts by The Biebers, singer Péter Szabó Szilvia, and the Tárkány Művek.

More good news is that Relax Liget returns with the participation of 5 Sekler cake stands! Relax Liget gives you the opportunity to skip the line, or at least to not stand in one for hours.

Once your order is ready, you’ll get a text or the order number will appear on a screen to inform you. In the meantime, guests can pass the time by playing fun board games, this way no precious second is wasted.
