Budapest Ranked 7th Best Cultural Destination in the World by Tripadvisor
The Hungarian capital has taken the 7th best place ranking for culture in 2023, based on reviews by the global travel community of Tripadvisor, the world’s most visited travel website.

In its 'Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Destination Awards' for this year, a new category was introduced: Best Places for Culture.

This list ranks destinations that boast outstanding "art, history, music, and cuisine, plus iconic sights and experiences you can’t find anywhere else".

While Fes in Morocco tops this list, Budapest grabbed 7th place. with key landmarks like St Stephen's Basilica, Heroes' Square,  Aquincum, plus the Statue Park and three spas in particular all highlighted:

“The 'Queen of the Danube' is steeped in history, culture and natural beauty. More than 15 million gallons of water bubble up from 118 springs and wells in Budapest."

"The City of Spas offers visitors a fascinating variety of baths, from the gleaming Gellért to the neo-baroque Széchenyi built in 1913, to the Rudas - a dramatic 16th-century Turkish spa with original Ottoman architecture.”

In connection with this turizmus.com notes that a night-time 'historical vampire walk' in the Buda Castle and an evening boat tour of the capital are also unmissable attractions.
