Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Budapest on Wednesday for what can be described as a historic visit, marking the first time a Chinese head of state has visited Hungary in 20 years.
Hungary will stay out of “NATO’s insane action” despite all pressure on the country, the foreign minister said, adding that “it will however be a long fight, in which the upcoming EP election, when people can express their opinion on war or peace, will be an important point”.
Hungary and Armenia have agreed to open embassies in each other’s capitals, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Monday, calling the move another important step in the two countries’ improving bilateral relations since their restoration of diplomatic ties a year-and-a-half ago.
The visit of the Chinese president later this week is of historic importance and will greatly contribute to strengthening Hungary, developing bilateral economic and trade relations and, hopefully, to the success of peace efforts, Péter Szijjártó has said.
