New Exhibition by Yoko Ono's Ex-Lover: 'Hommàge - Cultural Migration' at Hungarian National Museum
70-year-old Sam Havadtoy, who is known by the public as an American but holds dual British-Hungarian citizenship and identifies himself as Hungarian, is an artist who has had the opportunity to work with renowned creators such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Yoko Ono (who was his partner for decades). In the past year, he has created an extraordinary series.

Using his characteristic lace-like technique, he recreated the paintings of eleven renowned modern artists, giving them a new interpretation.

He added a cover in front of each painting that visitors can freely pull back or close. Interestingly, all eleven selected world-famous artists can be considered cultural migrants. The exhibition also features one artwork from each of the evoked creators, with a different piece showcased every week.

This unique exhibition promises to be an unparalleled artistic treat, unprecedented in Budapest, and will be showcased in several other museums worldwide after its domestic premiere.

The exhibition can be visited until August 27, 2023, in the Pulszky Room of the Hungarian National Museum.
