Kylie Revealed as Headliner For Opening Night at Budapest's 'Island of Freedom'
Australian pop-sensation Kylie Minogue will be the headliner on the Main Stage at the opening day of this year’s Sziget Festival, Europe’s biggest and most diverse music festival, on August 7, the organisers announced.

“Kylie is the most successful Australian artist of all times with over 80 million records sold worldwide. She has worked with such performers as Robbie Williams, Nick Cave and Dua Lipa,” Virág Csiszár, the festival’s booking manager told a press conference.

The Main Stage will feature as other headliners such as Halsey, Liam Gallagher, Martin Garrix, Sam Smith and Fred again … until the festival’s closing day on August 12, the event’s chief executive, Tamás Kádár, said.

Acts in various genres will be put on at various venues including the Revolut Stage, BOLT Party Arena, Colosseum, dropYard, Global Village, Magic Mirror, Cirque du Sziget, Theatre, Dance Corner and ArtGraden and the Sziget Beach right next to the Danube.

The festival will also feature a Travelling Funfair and a Sports Zone, among others, he said.

“The slogan of this year’s, the 30th, Sziget festival is new, it is: Free to Be…-, but respecting values such as acceptance, love, tolerance and mutual respect are unchanged,” Kádár said.

József Kardos, the festival’s programme director said acts are coming to this year’s Sziget from 56 countries.
