Every year, Budapest is one of many cities to host this globetrotting exhibition. Here until 5 November, it showcases the best photojournalism and documentary photography of 2022, chosen from 60,000 entries.

This production celebrates the age-old traditions passed down from father to son in rural communities. It’s also the starting point for a series in which the company pays tribute to collectors of folk dance.

Charity Event: All Nations Lions Club Budapest's Musical Soiree

This worthwhile event takes place at the newly renovated Róheim Villa, which visitors can admire as part of a guided tour. Alongside, piano works by Beethoven, guests be presented with Lions Club information.

To present Handel’s revered oratorio, the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra will be accompanied by four young Croatian singers whom BDO director Gábor Hollerung discovered during a guest performance in Zagreb.

This Italian operatic trio return to Hungary for a one-off show at the Budapest Aréna, the local audience by now familiar with their vocal tones and the magical atmosphere of the Italian musical favourites.

In this gripping rework by contemporary virtuoso violinist Félix Lajkó of a 19th-century classic, the Ballet Company of Győr takes you through this familiar mystical story that is both beautiful and horrifying.

Classical Opera: Nabucco

Verdi’s Nabucco was a milestone, its chorus of Va, pensiero... an anthem of liberty after the premiere in 1842. Here, director Gergely Kesselyák presents the shifts in the balance of powers and religions.
