The explosion and sound effects of firecrackers and similar devices used in festivities during New Year’s Eve could cause a shock to many dogs and cats, daily Magyar Nemzet said on Thursday. Under a police warning, owners are “personally responsible” to take care of their pets, which may run away and get killed in the traffic, the paper said.
