The number of permits issued for new home construction rose 30.4%, reaching a total of 6,947 in the first three quarters of 2014, Central Statistics Office (KSH) revealed today. New permits were issued for an area exceeding 799,300 sqm; this figure was up by 27.0%.

The number of permits issued for new home construction rose by 17.9% to 4,009 in the first half of 2014, fresh data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show. New permits were issued for a total area of 453,000sqm, up 13.9%. The number of new home completions rose 21.8% to 3,265 in the first half of this year.

Perhaps I haven’t spent enough time on the plight of the homeless in Hungary. The United Nations estimates the number of homeless people in Hungary at 30-35,000, of whom about 8,000 are in Budapest. Budapest Airport: Single Runway Operation Again During Earth Hour

As is now traditional, this year Budapest Airport is once again participating in the global environmental initiative called Earth Hour. The Hungarian capital airport will close one of its runways, switch off the related lights and reduce energy consumption in passenger circulation areas and in the nearly 300 buildings located at the airport for an hour at 8:30 p.m. on 23 March.
