Sixteen Hungarian state medals were auctioned off Monday evening for a total of HUF 2.5 million (USD 9,300). Britannica International School, Budapest won the first prize in the World Scholar's Cup when taking part in its regional round in Prague on Saturday 16 March. Britannica students, Balazs Somogyi, Zsófia and Valentin Kapitany succeeded in not only gaining 15 medals, but winning the Senior Division's Overall Champion Team trophy!

Team GB might not have won any medals on 8 August (although we were very happy to see Hungary doing so well), but for me it was a day of firsts: Day 1 of the Festival was also the first anniversary of my arrival in Budapest and I made my first visit to the Sziget Festival and my first speech in Hungarian.
