Exhibition At Hungarian Railway Museum
Was on display until 31 october 2021. This exhibition gives you an insight into the everyday life of the workers. It presents what life and work were like at the formerly largest railway maintenance depot in the country.

The Northern not only provided employment to people, but the "Törekvés" (Endeavour) community centre within the area was also the venue of vivid cultural and sports activities.

For example, there were car and motorcycle racing contests organized in the neighbouring park, the Népliget. Those vehicles will also be on show at the exhibition.

A particular division of the exhibition is dedicated to introducing the new Museum of Transport, whereby we also intend to present how railways will transform in the future in Budapest. Besides, they are poised to organize exciting museum education programs for all age groups.

Oganisers are well aware that there is no actual transport exhibition without prestigious locomotives; therefore, they will display the iconic and determinant railway vehicles of the 20th century.

You will see the first of the iconic steam engine 424, the 001, and the Árpád railbus that ran between Budapest and Vienna, as well as the steam engine with the nickname Szellem (Ghost), which is the speed record holder among steam engines in Hungary, and the V60 electric locomotive designed by Kálmán Kandó.

Be the first to wonder at this unique exhibition, the romantic heritage area and of course, the magnificent locomotives.
