Korean Cultural Festival Brings Film, Music and Cuisine to Budapest
Korean cuisine, traditional K-kugak music and a week of film all form part of the Korean Cultural Festival, starting in Budapest on 8 September.

Shows at the House of Hungarian Music include Black String led by Ho Jun Jsong playing the traditional Korean zither or geomungo, the NAL project performing folk songs from Gyeonggi Province, while traditional Korean instruments will be presented as part of the language of contemporary music by Pak Jsi Ha.

As part of a worldwide tour, the National Gugak Center tread the boards of the Erkel Theater with Csongmjo Jeryeak, music of royal ritual usually performed at the Csongmjo Confucian Shrine, inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, involving 54 musicians and 18 dancers.

Korean Film Week at the Korean Cultural Center comprises two features focusing on Korean music and dance. As for Korean gastronomy, special guest Jeong Kwan is a master of Korean temple cuisine, rooted in health preservation and sustainability.
